CAPS Pinwheel Planting Ceremony
CAPS – Child And Parent Services – recognizes these children every April by planting 3,000 blue pinwheels in the front lawn of our building, the Joy Rose Center, at 1000 W. Hively Ave. in Elkhart. April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month and the pinwheel is a symbol of child abuse prevention; a symbol of a carefree, playful childhood for every child. We at CAPS invite the press and the public to join us on Friday, March 31, at 4 p.m. to plant these pinwheels. This beautiful display of blue pinwheels fluttering in the wind will stand throughout the month of April, serving to remind all of us of our role in keeping children safe from abuse and neglect
