Reverie Yarn, Decor and Gifts will present a Knitted Knockers event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 19, beginning with a continental breakfast at the store, 201 S. Main St. Knitted Knockers are soft, comfortable breast prosthetics for women who have had breast surgeries such as mastectomies or lumpectomies, according to a news release. They are hand-knit or crocheted in multiple sizes.

A donation from the staff at the Elkhart Clinic, free cotton yarn will be available to those who attend the event to knit or crochet. Participants can choose their yarn color, and experts will be on hand to assist with knitting and crocheting. Door prizes and camaraderie will add to the fun. Those who complete a pair of knockers can receive yarn to make more. Patterns and filling will be provided; needles will be available for purchase, or attendees can take their own.
