About the Presenters:

Phil Cooper has over 20 years of professional experience in the IT industry, including over 12 years of working closely with and serving medical practices. In 1995, he co-founded Networking Technologies, a Tennessee-based IT firm, serving as a senior engineer from 1995-2003 and company president from 2003-2009 when the company was sold to MapleTronics Computers.

While working with the medical industry, it became clear that practices needed help with HIPAA compliance, particularly the Security Rule. In response, Phil co-founded Skysail Software in 2011 to provide compliance management tools and education for small and medium sized practices. Phil presently serves as the Principal Software Architect for Skysail Software.

Jeff Franks: Since 1992, Jeff Franks has been a part of the many changes in the IT landscape. After co-founding and serving as lead engineer with Networking Technologies, he helped build it into a successful business that was eventually purchased by MapleTronics Computers in 2009. Currently serving with MapleTronics as the Automation Team Lead, Jeff is focused on finding ways to reduce client's downtime and interruption when using their IT.

After an exhaustive, but unsuccessful search for tools to help covered entities with their HIPAA compliance, Jeff cofounded Skysail Software in 2011.  He currently serves as the Chief Content architect for Skysail, focusing on educating and assisting their clients with maintaining HIPAA compliance.
