Visit the Goshen Theater lobby from August 13 to October 6 during our Box Office hours or any public event to see the works of South Bend artist, Ramiro Rodriguez. "I am the son of Mexican immigrants that arrived in Texas in the mid-40s and eventually settled in southwestern Michigan in the early 60s. I grew up within a large extended family composed of aunts, uncles, and cousins who all lived within a mile of my home. This transplanted micro-colony of Mexican culture took root and grew to blend with the community of my small rural hometown. My family’s stories and words have inspired and played a significant role in the themes of my artworks. This exhibition presents prints created over the past decade. Stories from personal experiences, family histories, cultural references, and commentaries on world events make up the themes expressed here. These are the relationships that inform my world. My evolving role as a father, husband, brother, son, and community member inspires and drives the themes in my work.
