Pillars Oktoberfest Benefits Big Brothers Big Sisters of Elkhart County
The Pillars of Elkhart is hosting Oktoberfest on Saturday, October 23, 2010 from 3:30-7:30 p.m. at Central Park behind the Civic Plaza downtown Elkhart. This event will feature German food and brews, Paul Decker & The Real Deal, DJ entertainment and a cornhole tournament benefitting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Elkhart County.
Advanced cornhole team registration is now available through www.downtownelkhart.org. Attendants will have the opportunity to bid on and purchase the boards that were designed by the youth and mentors of Big Brothers Big Sisters. “We are thrilled to be a part of this event that celebrates volunteer service with a fun, family friendly event,” stated Stephanie Patka, agency Executive Director. Pictures of the boards are available through the Big Brothers Big Sisters website.
“Oktoberfest is a perfect opportunity to bring family and friends down to Central Park and participate in an adult or youth cornhole tournament,” said Jay Weldy, Pillars member. “Everyone there will enjoy the live music, food, drink and will help support a great community and enable more mentors through Big Brothers Big Sisters.”
