Monroe County Red Cross Ride for the Red Motorcycle Ride
Monroe County Chapter of American Red Cross announces its second annual Ride for the Red motorcycle ride to honor military heroes on Saturday, May 19, 2012. Registration begins at Harley-Davidson/Buell of Bloomington at 9 a.m., ending at 11:30 a.m. Registration fee will be $20 for driver, $10 for rider.
Participants will follow a scenic route through five southern Indiana counties, (Monroe, Owen, Lawrence, Martin and Orange) participating in a virtual scavenger hunt for pictures of scenic landmarks. The ride will end at the American Legion Post 18 in Bloomington, where riders will enjoy a BBQ, music, raffles and prizes from 6-8pm. The event will take place rain or shine. The ride will benefit and support military members and their families, local disaster relief, emergency preparedness and lifesaving programs.
The first 50 bikes will receive a Ride T-shirt and 2012 event pin. For pre-registration, contact the Red Cross at 812-332-7292, or via email at suegulley@monroe-redcross.org.
