Be Calm and Gamelan

The Nyai Oyer Gamelan will be the topic and the instruments that will be the focus of this class. You will learn about this gamelan’s journey to Goshen and also how to play and enjoy the music of the Indonesian Gamelan. You can expect to learn about the traditions, the music, and the culture that surrounds this ancient ensemble of instruments. This will be a hands-on, participatory class taught by Marcia Yost who is the Director of the Arts: Engagement and Outreach at Goshen College. Come and enjoy the gamelan at the Goshen College Union Building.
