RSM Lends a Helping Hand in the South Bend Community as Part of the Firm’s Volunteer Week Efforts

South Bend(Aug. 7, 2019) – Employees with RSM US LLP (“RSM”) – the nation’s leading provider of audit, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market – recently held its tenth annual RSM US Volunteer Week, previously known as Volunteer Day, to benefit local and national nonprofits across the country. RSM’s annual Volunteer Day has grown so much that this year, the firm expanded it to an entire week to maximize the volunteer impact on our communities.
While RSM’s people regularly give back to their local communities, RSM Volunteer Week represents part of our firm’s commitment to the communities where our people work and live.
In Indianapolis, more than 50 RSM employees be packed backpacks with wholesome meals that will be distributed to youth in St. Joseph, Elkhart, and Marshall counties.
Cultivate is devoted to ending the cycle of hunger in the local communities of northern Indiana by providing a food rescue service. Within just two hours, volunteers are able to help process more than 300 life-saving meals for local food-insecure families. All the food our volunteers package is frozen and distributed throughout all of northern Indiana.
“At RSM, we understand the importance of giving back to the communities where our people live and work,” said Ryan Matthys, managing partner. “Local and regional volunteer initiatives such as the activities for Cultivate allow our employees and friends of the firm to strengthen relationships with one another, while enhancing the communities.”
In addition to South Bend and Elkhart office’s volunteer day, RSM’s Dollars for Doers program provides grants through the RSM US Foundation to match employees’ direct volunteer time serving eligible charities that reflect the foundation’s mission: Building tomorrow’s middle market leaders by supporting programs focused on education and organizations serving youth in the areas of hunger, housing and health in the communities where RSM employees live and work.
