Ivy Tech Community College names Kelly Friend as Vice Chancellor of Student Success
SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Ivy Tech Community College has named Kelly Friend Vice Chancellor of Student Success. Kelly previously served as the Executive Director of Career Coaching and Employer Connections for the college beginning in December of 2019. In that role she served as the primary advisor to the CCEC team regarding career development of students and in fulfilling training, education, work-and-learn, and placement needs of employers in the campus service area.
In her new role she will lead the team in charge of supporting students through their Ivy Tech journey, working to implement programs and structure that will help students overcome barriers and successfully complete their program at Ivy Tech.
Kelly earned Bachelor’s degree in English Education/Art & Design from Purdue University and a Master’s Degree in Management and Leadership from Western Governors University. She has worked in the education and non-profit sector for over fifteen years. Most recently she served as the Director of Career & Business Engagement at Goodwill Industries of Michiana where she was responsible for 6 regional Career Centers as well as many regional career programs for Northern Indiana.
Kelly also holds a Career Coaching Certificate from Skilling America and is a certified Civil Rights Investigator with the Association of Title IX Administrators (ATIXA). Additionally, she was named as one of Michiana’s 40 under 40 for 2021.
