As with any family, the history of MasterBrand Cabinets starts at different points and involves the blending of various traditions. The original member of our cabinet brands, Aristokraft, got its start in 1954 when it was founded in Celestine, Indiana. This line soon helped define and design modern-day, built-in cabinetry following the post-war boom of the 50's.
During and shortly after this boom, other brands that would one day make up the MasterBrand family, like HomeCrest, Kitchen Craft, Schrock, Diamond, Decorá, and Omega got their start and began to create and perfect their own traditions and techniques.
As the cabinetry industry grew and prospered, the MasterBrand family began to take shape, when in 1998 Aristokraft, Decorá, Diamond, Kemper and Schrock brought their talents and traditions together – while maintaining their individuality. In 2002, Omega, HomeCrest, and Kitchen Craft joined the MasterBrand family. Later, in 2013, Woodcrafters was integrated, strengthening the vanity business.
HomeCrest Cabinetry was founded in Goshen, Indiana in 1969. Goshen Facility continues to produce HomeCrest along with Schrock, Kemper, Diamond and Pivot.
Today — with the 2015 acquisition of Norcraft Companies, Inc., manufacturer of the Mid Continent, UltraCraft, Starmark and Fieldstone brands — the MasterBrand family grows to include more than 14,000 specialists at manufacturing and service centers across the United States, Canada and Mexico.
