Downtown Ministries Inc. (DTM) is a non-profit organization that has been providing needed ministry to the greater Goshen, Indiana and Michiana area since 2001. DTM was originally founded as a community initiative when Harvest Community Church in Goshen purchased the old United States Post Office in Goshen. The building was repurposed as a youth center named “The Post,” and Harvest created the DTM non-profit to better suit the needs of the youth center. The initiative was foundational for serving the Goshen community.
In 2017, current director, Jim Dreier, had a vision to innovate and expand the ministry to better serve the greater Goshen, Indiana and Michiana area. A two-year initiative began to repurpose and relaunch Downtown Ministries to have a greater presence and bring more effective ministry to Goshen. This relaunch was made public in March of 2020.
DTM continues to desire to empower people who have been adversely affected by social injustice issues in our community. Beyond Harvest Community Church, DTM now has meaningful partnerships with The Salvation Army, The Post, and the Interfaith Hospitality Network of Goshen as well as great project-based relationships with other organizations in the city.
