SUMMARY:Rock the Quarry Triathlon & Mile Swim
DESCRIPTION:The Goshen Parks & Recreation Department is excited to host the 5th Annual Rock the Quarry Triathlon and Mile Swim scheduled for Saturday\, August 17\, 2019! The event is held at the beautiful Fidler Pond Park located at 1424 Lincolnway E. in Goshen\, Indiana. Formerly a rock quarry\, the pond will be open to the public for this sprint triathlon and mile swim\, which is the only day of the year people are permitted to swim in the quarry. The triathlon is USAT sanctioned and consists of a 500-yard swim\, 15.8-mile bike ride and a 3.1 mile run. The mile swim event is an open water rectangular course beginning and ending near the same point. It is our goal to provide a premiere event in Goshen that draws athletes from nearby cities and states\, their friends\, families and spectators. In 2018\, Rock the Quarry attracted 225 participants who represented 61 cities and 9 states. This is truly a destination event!
