Kid's Global Day of Play
The Imagination Foundation and Concord Mall invites you to participate in the Second Annual Concord Mall Cardboard Challenge. Inspired by the short film, Caine's Arcade the Cardboard Challenge is a celebration of child creativity and the role communities can play in fostering it. During the month of September, kids are challenged to create and build out of cardboard, recycled materials and imagination. They can bring the items to Concord Mall for display. Entire classrooms are invited to participate. Please note that the Global Cardboard Challenge Day is October 11 but the Concord Mall event will be held on October 4. Check out the creations and vote for your favorite one. The top 3 winners will receive a prize! Allies for Greyhounds - Meet & Greet
Allies for Greyhounds will be holding a Meet & Greet event at Concord Mall on October 4, 2014 from 11:00am-2:00pm. There will be adoptable dogs for people to meet along with Allies volunteers and their personal hounds. They will be located in the west wing of the mall just outside Carson's department store. If you are looking to adopt or know somebody that is looking to add to their family this will be a great time to meet several hounds in one place. Don't miss out on this special opportunity! 7 Stages of Growth seminar by Hawthorne Services, LLC
The 7 Stages of Growth provides an assessment of a company’s past, present, and future growth issues. It provides the President / CEO a roadmap and strategic plan to improve the company’s ability to grow and become stronger. The perspectives of each member of the leadership team are compared and “hidden agents” and other obstacles are identified, leading to development of key initiatives to overcome those obstacles and barriers to success and growth.
Chuck Bower of Hawthorne Services, LLC will present the 7 Stages of Growth research and how it helps companies with their strategic planning. The suggested audience for this interactive presentation includes business owners, Presidents / CEO’s, and Controllers and CFO’s of companies with 15 to 200 employees. This lunch and learn event will be October 17th from 11:30 am to 1 pm at the Chamber offices. The cost of the luncheon is $10, lunch is included.

Gathering at Five Medals Festival
Join over 100 historical re-enactors and travel back in time at the Gathering at Five Medals, a living history festival portraying life in the Midwest from the 1660s to 1815. Visitors will become immersed in history as they watch period crafts being performed by skilled artisans and interact with costumed interpreters including French settlers, Woodland Indians, voyageurs, Revolutionary War and War of 1812 soldiers, traders, river pirates, mounted cavalry, and more.
