DESCRIPTION:The South Bend - Elkhart region\, home to 47 Smart Connected Communities in Northern Indiana and Southwest Michigan\, is on its way to becoming one of the nation's great regions. \n\n \n\nRegina Emberton is President & CEO of South Bend - Elkhart Regional Partnership\, which serves as a single point of contact for regional communication and seeks to create economic opportunities for all partner members through collaborative promotion\, marketing and capacity building efforts. The Partnership also serves as Administrator for the Regional Development Authority\, which was formed as a result of the Regional Cities Initiative. Regina will provide an update on the regional cities initiative projects as well as the status of a comprehensive regional economic development plan to focus on the following five pillars:\n\n1. Educating a world-class WORKFORCE.\n\n2. Recruiting and retaining great TALENT.\n\n3. Attracting and growing new economy companies in complement to our remarkably strong manufacturing INDUSTRIES.\n\n4. Promoting INCLUSION and sparking opportunities for minorities.\n\n5.
